An investigation is underway after a deadly train collision in Sorrento Valley.
It happened on Thursday, January 11th, at approximately 06:30 am. Near the intersection of Sorrento Valley Road and Carmel Mountain Road in the City of San Diego. When San Diego Police Officers arrived, they found a man, who was hit by a southbound North County Transit District Coaster train. The patient did not survive his injuries.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District. San Diego Police requested the Sheriff's TEU respond to conduct the investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the man, as well as determine cause and manner of death pending notification of his family.

Se está llevando a cabo una investigación después de una colisión mortal de trenes en la ciudad de San Diego.
Ocurrió el jueves 11 de enero, aproximadamente a las 06:30 am. Cerca de la intersección de Sorrento Valley Road y Carmel Mountain Road en la ciudad de San Diego. Cuando los oficiales de policía de San Diego llegaron, encontraron a un hombre que fue atropellado por un tren Coaster del Distrito de Tránsito del Norte del Condado en dirección sur. El paciente no sobrevivió a sus heridas.
La Unidad de Control de Tránsito del Sheriff (TEU, por sus siglas en inglés) investiga incidentes a lo largo de las rutas del Distrito de Tránsito del Norte del Condado. La Policía de San Diego solicitó la respuesta del TEU del Sheriff para llevar a cabo la investigación.
La Oficina del Médico Forense hará una identificación positiva del hombre, así como determinará la causa y la forma de la muerte hasta que se notifique a su familia.
