An investigation is underway after a deadly train collision in the City of San Diego.
It happened on Thursday, January 11, just before 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Sassafras Street and Pacific Highway in the City of San Diego. When San Diego Police Officers arrived, they found a man who was hit by a northbound Coaster train. Paramedics rushed to give aid, but he did not survive his injuries.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District (NCTD) which the Coaster uses. San Diego Police requested the Sheriff's TEU respond to conduct the investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the man, as well as determine cause and manner of death pending notification of his family.

Se está llevando a cabo una investigación después de una mortal colisión de tren en la Ciudad de San Diego.
Ocurrió el Jueves 11 de Enero, poco antes de las 11:30 a.m. cerca de la intersección de Sassafras Street y Pacific Highway en la Ciudad de San Diego. Cuando llegaron los oficiales de policía de San Diego, encontraron a un hombre que fue atropellado por un tren Coaster en dirección norte. Los paramédicos se apresuraron a brindarle ayuda, pero no sobrevivió a sus heridas.
La Unidad de Control de Tránsito (TEU) del Alguacil investiga incidentes a lo largo de las rutas del Distrito de Tránsito del Condado Norte (NCTD) que utiliza el Coaster. La Policía de San Diego solicitó que el TEU del Alguacil respondiera para realizar la investigación.
La Oficina del Médico Forense realizará una identificación positiva del hombre, así como determinará la causa y forma de muerte en espera de notificar a su familia.
