An investigation is underway after a deadly train collision in the City of Encinitas.
It happened on Saturday, January 13, at approximately 11:30 p.m. Near the intersection of Vulcan and D Street in the city of Encinitas. When San Diego Sheriff's Department Deputies arrived, they found a man who was hit by a southbound BNSF freight train. The victim did not survive his injuries.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District which BNSF uses. Sheriff deputies from the North Coastal station requested the Sheriff's TEU respond to conduct the investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make an identification of the man, as well as determine the cause and manner of death pending notification of his family.

Se está llevando a cabo una investigación después de una mortal colisión de trenes en la Ciudad de Encinitas.
Ocurrió el Sábado 13 de Enero, aproximadamente a las 11:30 p.m. cerca de la intersección de Vulcan y D Street en Encinitas. Cuando llegaron los oficiales del Departamento del Alguacil de San Diego, encontraron a un hombre que fue atropellado por un tren de carga BNSF en dirección sur. La víctima no sobrevivió a sus heridas.
La Unidad de Control de Tránsito (TEU) del Alguacil investiga incidentes a lo largo de las rutas del Distrito de Tránsito del Condado Norte que utiliza BNSF. Los oficiales del North Coastal Sheriff's Station solicitaron que el TEU del Alguacil respondiera para llevar a cabo la investigación.
La Oficina del Médico Forense realizará una identificación del hombre, así como determinará la causa y forma de muerte en espera de notificar a sus familiares.
