An investigation is underway after a deadly Sprinter Train collision in Vista.
It happened on Thursday, February 29 just after 9:00 a.m. on the tracks near the intersection of Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue. When Sheriff's Deputies arrived, they found a man who had been hit by a westbound Sprinter train. The victim did not survive his injuries.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District which the Sprinter Train uses. Deputies from the Vista Sheriff's Station requested the Sheriff's TEU respond to conduct the investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the man, as well as determine cause and manner of death pending notification of his family.

Se está llevando a cabo una investigación después de una colisión mortal del Tren Sprinter en Vista.
Sucedió el Jueves 29 de Febrero poco después de las 9:00 a.m. en las vías cerca de la intersección de Main Street y South Santa Fe Avenue. Cuando llegaron los oficiales del Alguacil, encontraron a un hombre que había sido atropellado por un tren Sprinter en dirección oeste. La víctima no sobrevivió a sus heridas.
La Unidad de Control de Tránsito (TEU) del Alguacil investiga incidentes a lo largo de las rutas del Distrito de Tránsito del Condado Norte que utiliza el Tren Sprinter. Los oficiales del Vista Sheriff's Station solicitaron que el TEU del Alguacil respondiera para realizar la investigación.
La Oficina del Médico Forense realizará una identificación positiva del hombre, así como determinará la causa y forma de muerte en espera de notificar a su familia.
