An investigation is underway after a deadly train vs. pedestrian collision occurred on the North County Transit District train tracks that travel along the bluffs in the city of Del Mar, county of San Diego.
The train collision occurred at approximately 9:53 p.m. on 3/17/2024, near mile post marker 245.3, which is just north of Torrey Pines State Beach. Sheriff's Deputies from the North Coastal Patrol Station and fire personnel responded to the scene and declared the involved subject deceased from obvious signs of death due to the injuries he sustained.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents that occur on North County Transit District property. San Diego Sheriff's Department TEU responded to the scene to conduct an investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the involved subject, as well as determine cause and manner of death pending notification of his family.

Colisión de trenes – San Diego
Se está llevando a cabo una investigación después de que se produjera una colisión mortal entre un tren y un peatón en las vías del tren del Distrito de Tránsito del Norte del Condado que viajan a lo largo de los acantilados en la ciudad de Del Mar, condado de San Diego.
La colisión de trenes ocurrió aproximadamente a las 9:53 p.m. del 17/03/2024, cerca del marcador de la milla 245.3, que está justo al norte de Torrey Pines State Beach. Los agentes del alguacil de la Estación de Patrulla Costera Norte y el personal de bomberos respondieron a la escena y declararon que el sujeto involucrado había fallecido por signos evidentes de muerte debido a las lesiones que sufrió.
La Unidad de Cumplimiento de Tránsito del Sheriff (TEU, por sus siglas en inglés) investiga los incidentes que ocurren en la propiedad del Distrito de Tránsito del Norte del Condado. El Departamento del Sheriff de San Diego respondió a la escena para llevar a cabo una investigación.
La Oficina del Médico Forense hará una identificación positiva del sujeto involucrado, así como determinará la causa y la forma de muerte hasta que se notifique a su familia.
